Q: Why did you choose floristry as a career ?

A: I’ve always been fascinated by nature and loved being around plants, flowers especially, so I chose the course on Floristry at Reaseheath. I am in college 3 days a week and work at Morrisons as Florist Assistant 3 days a week, day in day out all I do is flowers and I love it!

Q: What do your friends and family think?

A: My parents weren’t sure at first, but now they are my biggest supporters.

Q:  What’s the best bit about your chosen career?

A: I love the different people that come in and why they buy specific flowers, from preparing baby shower bouquets to funeral wreaths, I love being a part of that emotional journey.

Q:  Have you any regrets?

A: Not at all, everyday I’m happy because I know that my future will be full of the one thing that makes me happiest.

Q:  Where do you hope to be in the future?

A: I would love to own a shop that sells bespoke designs and stands out from the rest, making my own mark on my corner of the world.

Q:  What advice would you give to anyone thinking about taking up floristry?

A: If you love being around nature and have a unique creative eye you should take up floristry, not only is it an incredible creative outlet, but being around flowers and plants 24/7 really does heal the soul.

Q: What would you like to tell the world about floristry?

A: Being in floristry has really opened my eyes to what true passion is. I’m happy to work long hours all because I am working with my favourite thing in the world, and having this as a creative outlet is so rewarding. Being a part of people’s journeys in life means a lot to me, having that sort of impact on my local community is important and really helps me connect further with the people that have been helping me throughout my entire life.
