Marginpar

Marginpar .. specialists in exclusives

If you’ve received a bouquet with Clematis in it, chances are they were grown by Marginpar, an African/Dutch based company that opened its first farm 35 years ago and now has 17 flower farms across Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe with a state of the art … and having been there we mean state of the art! … processing and distribution centre in Aalsmeer, the flower capital of The Netherlands.

Employing over 4,000 men and women, the company now offers nearly 100 different flowers.  Not just the oh so gorgeous Clematis but some amazing Astrantia and Eryngium as well as a whole host of niche products like Scabious, Delphinium, Helleborus and Gloriosa.

And because they are grown outdoors and in near perfect growing conditions … the African belt is naturally lit and heated … the blooms are as sturdy and strong as can be and means a Marginpar sourced flower will last for ages.

In fact, spend a while on their website, which is full of inspiration as well as an awesome flower catalogue, and we defy you not to get excited and want every single one!

Even more importantly is their belief in making sure the planet is protected as much as their people.  Not only are they members of FSI 2025 and committed to sustainable production but as a group have achieved 95% certification.  In Kenya and Ethiopia it’s actually 100% … in Zimbawe they are nearly there!  Oh yes and because the people matter, they work to the Kaizen principle, where recognition, appreciation and trust form the basis of their culture.

And the recognition, appreciation and trust goes through to the florist sector too and the reason they are supporting National Florist Day as Marketing & Communication Helena van Achterberg explained, ‘Florists are incredibly important to us at Marginpar. They make the special moments in life even more memorable with their beautiful creations and we are constantly in awe of the bouquets and designs they make with our flowers. We are delighted to be involved.”
