Charlie Jade Metcalfe

21 years old

Hadlow College, Tonbridge, Kent. Level 2 & 3 floristry.

Q: Why did you choose to do floristry as a career?

A: I have always followed my late nans steps in being creative and decided to take that into account and become a florist. Due to being dyslexic I struggled to do anything written and found a flare in floristry. I’ve never looked back.

Q: What do your friends and family think?

My Mum and dad are super supportive of me and have supported me every step of the way in my journey, including with the opening of my shop and everyday shop life.

Q:  What’s the best bit about your chosen career?

A: The best part was opening my shop, Rose Garden Flowers in Kings Lynn at the age of 18 and being extremely successful.

Q:  Have you any regrets or worries about your choice?

 A: Not at all.

Q:  Where do you hope to be in the future?

 A: Having multiple shops.

Q:  What advice would you give to anyone thinking about taking up floristry?

A: Never give up and keep pushing!

Q:  What would you like to tell the word about floristry?

A: I think the trade is in danger of dying if not enough young people take a look into it. It needs to be pushed out there more to be kept alive and keep floristry going forever.
